You entered: Renjason Cambronero Patulot
There are 25 letters in your name.
Those 25 letters total to 107
There are 10 vowels and 15 consonants in your name.

Your number is: 8

The characteristics of #8 are: Practical endeavors, status oriented, power-seeking, high-material goals.

The expression or destiny for #8:
Your Expression is represented by the number 8. The 8 Expression is well-equipped in a managerial sense. You have outstanding organizational and administrative capabilities. You have the potential for considerable achievement in business or other powerful positions. You can expect to receive the financial and material rewards. You have the skill and abilities to establish or operate a business with great efficiency. You have good judgment when it comes to money and commercial matters, and you understand how to build and accumulate material wealth. Much of your success (or lack of it) may come due to your ability (or inability) to judge character. With the number 8 Expression, you exercise sound judgment in most of your affairs; you are realistic and practical in your approach to business matters.

The positive 8 Expression produces individuals that are very ambitious and goal-oriented. If the 8 energy is not in excess in your makeup, you will no doubt express these traits to some extent. No one has any more energy that a person with the 8 Expression who has a plan laid and is starting to work. No one has any more self-confidence, either. If you are expressing the positive qualities of 8, you are an outstanding manager because you can plan, initiate, and complete projects; you are very dependable and determined.

As it always happens, there can be too much of a good thing. If you have too much of the 8 energy in your makeup, you may express some of the negative attitudes. A negative 8 can be very rigid and stubborn. Ambition sometimes has a way of becoming over-ambition, and you may express an unreasonable impatience with the lack of progress. If your negative side is showing, you may be too exacting, both of yourself and of others. Sometimes this can even becomes a case of intolerance.

The number 8 is very materialistic and also very desirous of status and power. Neither of these drives are inherently negative unless they are taken to an extreme. You must avoid the tendency to strain after money, material matters, status, or power, to the detriment of the other important factors in your life.

Your Soul Urge number is: 4

A Soul Urge number of 4 means:
With the Soul Urge or Motivation number of 4 you are likely to strive for a stable life. You tend to follow a rather orderly pattern and systematic approach in your endeavors. You have an inner desire to serve others in a methodical and diligent manner. You want to be in solid, conventional, and well-regulated activities, and you are somewhat disturbed by innovation and erratic or sudden changes. Excellent at organizing, systematizing, and managing, you have a way of establishing order and maintaining it. You are responsible, reliable and in the final analysis, practical. Highly analytical, you can see your way through all sorts of situations and generally have a clear understanding of the issues. You are a very honest, sincere, and conscientious individual.

The negative side of the 4 is rigid, stubborn and somewhat narrow-minded. There is a tendency to hide feelings, or to really not be aware of real feelings. Avoid being too rigid and stubborn in your thinking, and try to always see the big picture rather than becoming to involved with the detail. Don't be afraid to take a chance once in awhile.

Your Inner Dream number is: 4

An Inner Dream number of 4 means:
You dream of being a very solid citizen that people can depend upon. You strive for organization and predictable order. You want to be recognized as a person with a plan and the discipline to make that plan work like clockwork.

Want to try your name? CLICK HERE!

    <lj:music>Love so Sweet - Arashi</lj:music>

Rehearsals for Jailbreak Fashion Show started this 4:00pm 'til about 7:30pm.

I really found it difficult. I had to learn how to walk properly and stand straight. This was really new to me because I usually slouch as I walk and stand. <s>It seems that I need a chiropractor to gain proper body posture.</s>

The catwalk would be divided into 3 genres: Mafia, Punk and an All-White genre. I'm really looking forward to the Mafia attire as I'm not very sure whether I can give justice to the care-free Punk ensemble. An overall winner would be chosen as well as winners for each genre.

Anyway, the catwalk would be lasting for only a few minutes but it's as complicated as a stage play in itself! We need to time our walk, learn when to pose, know when to turn, and coordinate with our partners.
>_<

The catwalk is expected to run smoothly so I better learn to remove and wear clothes quickly without ruining my hairstyle soon. This fact makes me feel really nervous. What if in my rush I forget to wear/fix a part of the ensemble? What if I slack too much that I'd be late for my next walk? What if I forget the the sequencing and embarrass myself?!
*death wail* NUUUUUU!

Rehearsals resume on Monday. Yosh! I can do this! <s>Even though I still have not memorized the sequencing for the catwalk. HELP! My feet hurt.</s>

I just downloaded the whole of 花ざかりの君たちへ~イケメン♂パラダイス OST [Hana Kimi Japan OST] and Angela Aki's Album: TODAY.

I just love Hana Kimi's background music! The tracks made me remember all those funny scenes in the drama. I might want to watch the Drama again even though it's under Shoujou and Reverse Harem Anime classification. >_< <s>Maki Horikita is my new celebrity crush.</s> The soundtrack might be useful in the future. Nice background music for school plays or small productions.

Angela Aki's Album was great. Pure voice + Great Piano skills were worth an hour of download time.
If you want to listen to a few Angela Aki songs just visit My Friendster Profile and check out the first 3 songs in my embedded imeem playlist.

I know these are illegal but what the heck. It's only illegal when someone gets caught. <s>And I hope it wouldn't be me!</s> LOL.

じゃね！

    <lj:music>Again - Angela Aki</lj:music>

I just finished watching Kirakira Kenshui[Sparkling Medical Intern]. It's a Terebi Dorama(J-drama) about the comical struggles of Oda Usako, a Japanese intern doctor.

The internship period was similar to that of an RPG game because she has to finish her internship in each of the hospital departments! She met different kinds of people, annoying patients and even intimidating doctors but managed to gain friends and overcome hurdles along the way. Level Up! ^o^

*daydreams*

I am inspired. Haha. It revived my dream to become a medical doctor. If ever I'd be one, I want to be an oncologist or a doctor from the internal medicine department. ^_^

*reality check*

I'll study for 8 more years for this dream to come true. @_@ *dies*

Now, which Terebi Dorama I should watch next? :\

~

EDIT: Short Update

I've been watching LOVE♥LOVE?. It's an H-Anime which means it falls under the "Adult Anime" category. Compared to other Hentai, I think this anime is not hardcore since the act itself is not featured in any of the episodes that I have watched and maybe even to the episodes I am yet to watch.

The age of innocence for this anime enthusiast is over! >_<

The first episode was full of panty shots. Scenes with topless girls started to pop up by episode 3. Adult themes here and there. 5 girls + 1 very imaginative boy runs this show. This is just too overwhelming. *nosebleed*

*runs to the nearest Church and uses holy water as eyedrops* @_@

Even though I used to play only Harry Potter TCG and Pokemon TCG, here's a Magic: The Gathering blog thing to liven up this post.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' <lj:music>The Nicest Kids in Town - James Marsden</lj:music>

Well if you're wondering what my previous post was about, I fixed my LJ userinfo. It was quite a mess so I organized it's parts into links.

Anyway, I recently watched Hairspray(2007) and I'm hooked! This is partly teenage03gypsy's fault! First Phantom of the Opera and now Hairspray! LOL.

But then again, part of it is my fault. I get hooked to musicals easily and I get hooked forever; with the exclusion of High School Musical that is. It got overrated so I eventually got tired of it.

I used the last of my birthday money to buy the original Hairspray Soundtrack. ^_^ Money well-spent. I enjoy the songs very much. *is now addicted*

Grah. I don't know. It's just that anything 60's to 70's-themed song appeal to me more compared to contemporary english music. It's the same with dancing too. I enjoy the 'twist' and boogie more than the street dancing/hip-hop.

I finally rode the LRT! Wee! *is hyper over the first time experience*

I liked looking out the window, looking at all the people walk around as we quickly pass by them.
I can't help but remember Newton's First Law of Motion as the train began to move or immediately stopped at a station. I almost lost my balance when the train started to move.
I suddenly wanted to throw a ball in the air and look from another frame of reference to see that figure it creates. Parabolic perhaps? But then again, I don't have a ball to begin with. :\

I thank Rachel for guiding me through this first time experience. It was really something to blog about. xD

Read the title and you can already tell how bored I am.

Anyway, The Duchess, a fictional character in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland gave Alice this confusing statement.

“Never imagine yourself to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that you were, or might have been, if it was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise!”

I've tried parsing it before but this is all I got:

Imagine yourself as what you are not because what you should have been or what you are not is what you are now.

It still sounds confusing to me. I'm wondering whether this sentence really has a meaning.
I guess formal logic would make it easier by reducing it to its structure. I've read a little about it but I don't know how to apply it. >_<

So here I am, nagging you to try and parse the Duchess's sentence. Gambatte yo!

*is deeply bored*

    <lj:music>Noise from Taft Ave.</lj:music>

School has just started dumping piles of homework on us.

We're doing expository paragraphs on Comm1 and we were asked to give 2 topics to write about on Friday. Care to suggest some topics?

We're supposed to take our Social Science 1 first DepEx today but then classes were suspended for no apparent reason. Why must we suffer because of inaccurate weather predictions? My waking up early and <s>studying</s> cramming was all in vain.

We have a Math 11 assignment to passed today. I was answering it last night when 24 Oras announced the suspension of class for today. Yes, I was actually watching the news last night. Unusual isn't? I ended up procrastinating. LOL.

Last Tuesday I was expecting a quiz in my History 2 class. It was postponed. :| Prof. Benjie invited his friend, who was also a history professor in UPM to talk about Shintoism. I was excited at first: Finally, an expert on Shintoism. (The group who reported vaguely discussed it.) It started out fine, but we strayed from Shintoism's belief system to supernatural events..whatever. He gradually inserted his "own belief system" that we were VERY far from our objective of discussing Shintoism.
(-_-) Grah.

My first debate training was okay. This house would lower the legal drinking age. My group in the Manresa School Debate Team was supposed to do a demo debate about this. We prepared cases back then for the Oxford-Oregon(cross-examination) type debate so I really thought that this time it would be easy.

Anyway, my role was the Prime Minister. I made a really poor setup. I forgot to answer why it should be lowered to 15 years old. Argh. Worse is that during case building, I can't remember my arguments back in high school! I knew from the start that I would be extremely under time unless the opposing team gives POIs. So there, I tried to extend my speech by repeating my arguments over and over and took 4 POIs! These were explicit signs on how poor I was doing. (I didn't know that I can take some of my teammate's cases)

I'm on probation by the way. With this poor performance I'm showing, there is no way they'd accept me by the end of the probation period.

I want to find my own rabbit hole! xO
Unlike Alice, I'd would not want to leave Wonderland in a hurry.

I think it means anything that is against the mores of the society. (was that right?) I can't help but ask. What's so wrong about something wrong? Something wrong maybe really wrong to a person but maybe just okay to another.

What's wrong with being nonsensical?
I read some works of Lewis Carol such as Jaberwocky. The poem was nonsensical and incomprehensible but I enjoyed it.
Debate Circle...*sigh*

I just received the letter containing the UPM Debate Circle Admission Result.

I'll just quote a few sentences from it:
...we expect new members to extend our legacy...
That's a burden. *inferiority-complex acting up*

...We believe in you. The entire organization worked to hone the potential we see in you. In return, the Circle needs your contribution too, especially if you are to be truly one of us...
I didn't really know that me joining the training has something in exchange. My main reason for training was just to improve my public speaking skills. I have been aware that I am uninterested and lazy to read/listen/watch news about current events and history. This will be a big hindrance for me if I am to really join the debate circle.

Being a member of the UP Manila Debate Circle entails a lot of things...The Circle must never be compromised.
It does! I know it does entail a lot of things. I am afraid that I cannot commit myself. I would just be a burden if that is what happens. I have seen my future subjects and I know that being a CAMPer(College of Allied Medical Professions) is really toxic! A former Prime Minister even told me during the interview that most CAMPers quit or back out. I don't want that to happen in the future. I don't want to give them the impression that I am ungrateful by impulsively leaving the organization after years of training.

After training for a month, we have seen how interested you are in the art and sport of debating. We have also seen great potential in you in both debating and adjudicating.
Well, yes I am interested in the art and the sport of debating...but I am not yet interested in the required knowledge(current events, history etc.) needed to excel in it. [For this, I thank the members themselves for shoving in my face how poorly I will do if I am to continue debating.]

Aside from violating the applicant's code of secrecy, you have displayed blatant insult to the Circle, its members, and your co-applicants for showing no interest for the organization.
Those are true. But mind you I did not do it intentionally.

My opinions in a nutshell...
1. I feel that I don't have what it takes to excel in this sport, so why even try? [Thanks for this epiphany UPMDC members.]
2. I know how toxic being a CAMPer is. (I can't even handle Math 11 properly! What more NeuroAnatomy + Debate) I cannot promise future commitment to the Circle which they demand from me.
3. I would like to utilize my free time in relieving stress. Debating in my opinion adds more ephemeral stress. *thinks about all the sleepy afternoons*
4. I couldn't sleep well since I started debating. Every night I would think about how I could improve the debates in my training period. I am haunted by debate after-thoughts! I want my peaceful nights back!
5. I am flattered that they see potential in me but that's all they are...potentials.[Again an epiphany from the interview] Being in the Debate Circle calls far more than potentiality. Kuya Aids once said: Gaano katagal kami maghihintay for that improvement?

@_@ Feel free to comment UPMDC members who are reading this. Just tell me when this is another violation and I'll put this to private right away.

UP Manila Debate Circle Seminar(Complete by 7.22.2007)

Amidst the pile of schoolwork I was moved to join the UP Manila Debate Circle Seminars. They did an exhibition debate that persuaded me to apply for training. They would teach me how to speak in public and how to write 5-minute impromptu speeches given 3 minutes of preparation and 7-minute extemporaneous speeches given 5 minutes preparation time. I know this sounds to much, but they told me that they expect me to write a speech and not a literary composition. Joining the team would be based on your total score and how well you did in the activities. Even though I do not really aim to join it, I hope I would at least land near the cut or within the cut. My main goal now is just to improve my public speaking skills. Seeing that I don't give a damn about current events, world issues etc.

I once did an impromptu speech given three random words(love, earrings, and glasses). I tried to relate the 3 words and knock in a social issue but it was really hard to do! It's like making sense out of nonsense! I'm a student not a miracle worker you know! xD

Another exercise given to me is to create impromptu speeches given these motions.
Impromptu Speech 1: This house believes that light is better than darkness.
I didn't do well in this. I failed to substantiate the whole arguments. I failed to ask "why?" and "how?". I learned here that in a debate nothing is morally good or bad. You have the power to persuade people into think what is morally good or bad. Mr. Adjudicator did tell me that I have the aura of a speaker who would do well in discussing serious matter. I hope to improve and prove them that I'm not just all aura and shite.

I only got an 8 out of the possible score of 10.

Impromptu Speech 2: This house would burn the UP CAS Library.
Again my manner and way of speaking was appreciated but I needed to practice eye-contact if I really want to persuade my audience. I was under time(not finishing the whole amount of minutes allotted for the speech). This is really one of my big and consistent problem that I don't know how to solve. It's just that whenever I lose stuff to say, I cut and end my speech immediately. I don't know why but maybe because I hate picturing myself standing silent and out of words in front of people. There was a little improvement with substantiation of arguments but I failed to justify why burning and not hacking or demolishing the UP CAS Library was the best thing to do. @_@ I defended and justified why the UP CAS Library needs to be burned but I forgot why it should be burned and not another method of destruction.

I only got a 7 out of the possible score of 10.

Extemporaneous Speeches in my opinion are a lot easier, primarily because I am given more time to think of better arguments and proofs. Anyway here is how they went.

Extemporaneous Speech 1: This house believes that corporal punishment should be implemented in Elementary Schools.
I played as the Prime Minister and my drill buddy as the leader of opposition. I am to set the parameters and defend the proposition and he is to negate and oppose the motion. In this speech I exerted a little effort in putting limitations and setting up the situation of the motion. Mr. Adjudicator told me that I could've been more specific how this policy should be implemented.

Mental Note: Whenever a policy or proposal is to be implemented go into details and assert why there is a need for such advancement.

Again I was under time and I failed to fully substantiate my arguments("How?" and "What guarantee?"). My arguments were correct but they need a little sugar coating according to Mr. Adjudicator. It's true since no one in the right state of mind would immediately agree to the statement: "Traumatizing children would make them disciplined individuals."

Mental Note: I am trying to persuade the audience; therefore I must present my arguments(despite how non-humanitarian they may be) in a delectable way.

I earned a 74 score; 75 being the rating for an average extemporaneous speech. I know it was below average but on the bright side I'm a point away. I need to improve!

BTW according to Mr. Adjudicator, my speech had and edge compared to what my drill buddy's speech. Ha! I definitely kicked his ass! Joke! <s>Even though I saw his 73 score which was just a point below mine >.<</s>

Extemporaneous Speech 2: This house believes that McDonalds should pay for global warming costs.
I did a better intro in this one. I defined the meaning and the scopes and limitations of the terms involved. I did a good intro but my arguments deviated a little from the motion per se. I tackled how global warming was such a big threat to ecosystems and human life around the world but I didn't do well on how McDonalds is responsible for this. I argued that since McDonalds already had philanthropic activities such as "pabahay" and literacy rate aid, It would better if they aimed for a greater cause such as prevention of global warming. I proved that they have the capabilities but I learned that being capable doesn't necessarily mean that you should be responsible. Though I mentioned how they're CFC releasing Refrigerants contribute to global warming, I forgot to stress that through this they have a responsibility towards the society.

Again I was under time. This is a really big problem that I need to resolve. The remaining time that I cut would've been used for strengthening my points. xO I hope I learn a technique on how I can prevent this.

I scored a 6 out of a possible 10. >.< I'm not improving, maybe because I changed Adjudicators and they have their personal biases xDD.

Extemporaneous Speech 3: This house would re-open the Bataan Nuclear Power plant.
This time I had really great arguments and I somehow substantiated it well. The bad thing is I forgot to define the need and importance of this proposal. I explained how a Nuclear power plant works compared to other sources of energy, which I am confident of because I know a little regarding nuclear physics and nuclear reaction. Mr. Adjudicator remarked that I sounded more knowledgeable of what I am asserting but it sounded more of a lecture not a persuasive speech.

Inner Self: Isn't that what's important? You confuse your audience with complex words and scenarios that they believe you know what you are saying and what you're saying is right. xD

Aside from that my argument about efficiency and macro-micro scale analysis was what he appreciated most. He remarked that my macro-micro scale analysis was what veteran debaters are most likely to do. He appreciated how I used that technique but he pointed out a flaw. I forgot to explain deeper and macro analysis. I knew I did but maybe we had different definitions of what a macro point of view in the economy is.

I scored 7.5 out of a possible 10.I will improve! Willpower! *wears a red forehead band*

Extemporaneous Speech 4: This house would legalize prostitution.
I was really expecting a 9 for this. I applied all that I have learned; from setting up policy arguments to explaining the need for new policies and up to the very last act of summarizing and concluding what my stand in the speech really is. Mr. Adjudicator pointed out a minor flaw in my set up. I didn't explain in what sense the prostitutes are to have only 2 clients.(I forgot to put it in "2 clients per ____" mode) He also pointed out that I should create better headlines instead of saying my raw arguments.

Mental Note: Place all your arguments into a one-line sentence, better yet a phrase so that the audience will get what you mean just by hearing those headlines in the conclusion.

I only got an 8 out of the possible score of 10. And I was really expecting a 9! .pif

Extemporaneous Speech 5(with POI): This house would make english the primary medium of instruction.
It thought this would go smoothly since I really think this should be done. I argued that there would be international unity and agreement, a more ordered way of communication which can be used for tourism and how english terms dont have corresponding native terms. I felt confidence in my arguments but I failed to set it up well. It was wrong of me to forget important details while setting up. I forgot to tell them that culture will still be preserved which I ended up pointing out in the middle of my speech. What made things worse is that I was continuously bombarded by POIs.(BOMBARDMENT! BOMBARDMENT!) I was instructed to accept every POI.

Note: POIs are Points of Information, given by the opposing team to test the arguments of the one speaking.

Thing is, I thought that I should accept them immediately. After my speech, the adjudicators then pointed out at that I should be strategic in accepting POIs. I should not accept them when I'm in the middle of saying something. But they gave unclear instructions when they said that all POIs must be accepted!

I only got a 7 out of the possible score of 10.

Extemporaneous Speech 6(with POI): This house would require return of service for medical graduates.
Grah. Another weak set up. When I told that they are required to work for free, I realized via POI that it would be harder to defend compared to letting them work under minimum wage.

Mental Note: Choose policy details more carefully. Check its feasibility and practicality.

The structure was better but most my arguments were based on assumptions. Ack! >_<

I only got a 7.5 out of the possible score of 10.

Extemporaneous Speech 7(with POI): This house would ban watching of animes unless prescribed by medical doctors.
I went beyond 7 minutes! Yay! My time was 7:21. I was 1 second overtime. >.< I better bring a stopwatch next time. I should be more strategic at accepting POIs. POIs consume a part of your time supposed to be used for your speech.

POI: How can all the doctors address to millions of people here in the philippines?
I was rattled by this POI that the only quick way I thought of resolving it is to make it look irrelevant. Ms. Adjudicator then told me that a possible answer for this is that not every filipino is interested in watching anime.

Anyway, this was a very though motion, since I myself disagree with it. I first discussed why there should be a ban. I did this by showing the health threat imposed by watching of anime. I then moved on to why it should be the medical doctors who would be given authority regarding this matter. I pointed that since a health threat is involved, the medical doctors through their long years of study would know what is best. Through this, I got the spirit of the motion.

I got an 8 out of the possible score of 10.

Extemporaneous Speech 8(with POI): Condoms, Bloodshed, Bunnies
Okay this is another three word activity but this time I needed to create a motion and defend it.
I thought that bunnies like any rodent are known for their intense libido which brings about mass reproduction. With that, I defined bunny as a euphemism for prostitutes. xD Now bloodshed can be equated to death.

I constructed the motion: This house would require the use of condoms to prevent bloodshed among bunnies. LOL!

Ms. Adjudicator commended my creativity in constructing and interpreting motion. She also found my set up to be vague.

I had 2 main arguments. 1.Use of condoms would be a preventive measure for prevalent STDs transmitted by prostitutes. 2.This would increase circulation of money within the economy if condoms would be openly marketed. Ms. Adjudicator told me that it would be better if I would choose only one because my 2 main arguments cannot be summarized under one theme. It would be better if I have chosen one and elaborated it more. Nevertheless, she saw an improvement in substantiation.

I got an 8 out of the possible score of 10.

Okay, here's the debate section of this post. I don't feel really excited about this since the pressure of being a functional team member is always bothering me.

Asian Parliamentary Debate 1(Role: Government Whip): This house would dissolve the ASEAN.
Damn motion! I don't even know why the ASEAN exists or what are the countries composing it! @_@ I hate these kinds of motion. Long have I told myself that I am bored with current events!

The team went emphasizing how dysfunctional the ASEAN is. It was weakly supported by the thought that if is functioning, then why are there still 3rd World Countries here in Asia. The Prime Minister's set up has many loopholes which sent confusion throughout the debate.

Anyway, me being the government whip made it worse! I don't know what to do! I was given the instruction to summarize the whole debate into 2 or 3 issues. I never really thought that I should provide a deeper analysis and comparison of the 2 paradigms presented by both sides!

Grah. From now on, I will avoid the whip role! Discussing everything in a nutshell and providing a deeper analysis of it while leaving an impression to the adjudicator is really hard in my opinion. I think I am most comfortable given the "Extension Roles" like the Deputy Prime Minister.

Winner: Opposition
They argued that we have no proof that it is dysfunctional and that seeing no large action made by the organization doesn't mean that we should abolish it right away.

The Prime Minister's set up was really unclear. We were supposed to suggest a new structure but she forgot to discuss it. It was only until the Deputy Prime Minister and I spoke that our alternative solution was cleared out. This is sent confusion throughout the debate and is a point against us.

I got an 8 out of the possible score of 10.

Asian Parliamentary Debate 2(Role: Deputy Prime Minister): This house rejects genital mutilation in Britain.
We limited this debate to genital mutilation among women in Britain. We were supposed to change the motion into: "This house rejects mandatory genital mutilation in Britain." This would've turned the tables as this we think is unanticipated by the opposing team. But we decided not to push it through since it might be a violation or something.

My role as the Deputy Prime Minister was to extend the case of the Prime Minister. I argued that if we reject genital mutilation there would be no decrease in pleasure felt by women during sexual intercourse. It would then be a form of women empowerment promoting equality of men and women in the bedroom scenario. Thus, removing the stereotype of women as passive sex objects and improving the views of the society in them.

Either the Prime Minister or the Deputy Prime Minister was supposed to deliver a Reply Speech but neither of us was prepared. Good thing the panel was kind enough to let the Government Whip give a reply speech which is really wrong!

Winner: Opposition (We lose..Again!)
Their main argument is freedom of choice for women. They said that our proposal would prohibit women from expressing themselves.

They also argued that pleasure has many levels and that there are some women who might not want pleasure.<s>Which I find weird, with exception of nuns and blessed singles xD</s>

I got an 8 out of the possible score of 10. BTW I was undertime...Again. Ack!

British Parliamentary Debate 1(Team: Opening Government Role: Deputy Prime Minister): This house believes that same sex union should be allowed to adopt children.
Well this was interesting. My extension had these banner statements: 1.The welfare of the adopted child is not affected by the gender of the parents. 2.Future Building.

I pointed out that living or growing with homosexuals will not automatically yield a homosexual offspring since sexuality is a multi-factorial concept. The Prime Minister explained that these homosexual couples would still be subjected to the adoption process to verify if they are qualified to adopt children.

In my future building argument. I explained how orphans will be given a better future if they are to be adopted by capable parents, including homosexual parents. It would also decrease government funding for orphanages and government orphan-related organizations. The sum would be better off used for other investments for the development of the country.

Winner: Opposition(Why does the team I belong to always lose? x_X)
They argued that no matter which perspective you look at it. Discrimination will take place both on the parents and the child. They argued that the child's probability of being homosexual increases if he/she is living with homosexual parents.

Discrimination was their main argument.

Debate afterthoughts:
They said in the start that they would not be judgmental and biased with the homosexual but when they said that the child's probabiliy of ending up homosexual increases when living with homosexual parents implies that being homosexual per se is unacceptable and is bad. Aren't they discriminating the homosexuals themselves?

Our policy of allowing it would be a good step towards homosexual acceptance in the society. If they think that this is premature, then they should've given a counter-proposal on to what would be best to do to avoid what they call "backlash"!

I only got a 74, 75 being the average. I was at least expecting an average grade.

I only got to adjudicate once but this activity was what I enjoyed most. There is nothing more reassuring for me than knowing that people have their flaws and it is my job to see them. I find adjudicating really easy. You get to sit down, listen people talk, judge them, commend their hardwork and most of all expose their mistakes. *EviL Laugh* xD

Adjudication 1: This house would put educational requirements for child actors.
Main Issues:

Sufficiency of the Education Provided for Child Actors

Career Building

I forgot all the other issues within the debate maybe because I was suffering an intense headache while adjudicating. @_@ There was even a time when my vision went blurry good thing I made it through the whole debate and adjudicating process.

The issue on sufficiency on the education provided for child actors was won by the government side. They emphasized on the long-term benefits on children brought about education. They argued that these children are not guaranteed to be famous throughout their lives. On the other hand, the Opposition focused more on the acting career via home schooling/set tutoring.

The issue on Career Building was again won by the Government because of the long-term benefits brought about by the educational requirements.

Government side wins the debate.

Ranking:
(3)Closing Government - A great extension. They focused on the societal benefits such as erasing the sterotype that child actors grow up stupid etc.

(2)Opening Opposition - Counter-proposal was possible but didn't go into details. Leader of the Opposition should've assumed the role of the Prime Minister when suggesting a counter-proposal. 4 minutes of the Deputy Leader of the Opposition's speech was wasted on rebuttals, the remainder was a mere rehash.

(1)Opening Government - Weak set up. Defined the term "child actors" but not the vague term "educational requirement". Did not go into details.

(0)Closing Opposition - Introduced new matter opposite to the opening opposition. The Opening Opposition talked about set tutoring while closing oppposition talked about home schooling.

I scored a 9 out of 10! Ms. Chairwoman said that I have a good grasp of issues, good bases for ranking, reasonable enough.

I really enjoyed this. I wonder if there is such a thing as "UP Manila Adjudicating Circle"

Adjudicating Quote to live by: It's easier to find a million faults on others than a single fault in yourself.

There I have updated the extemporaneous speech section and added the debate and adjudicating section of this post.

The deliberation process would be in another post, since I now see how this post stretches your friends page. xD

Ja mata!

The first week was manageable and trouble-free but eventually things started to get nasty.

In my History 1 & 2 class, Prof. Mangubat gave us this reporting technique based on dialectics. We were assigned a really broad topic in Philippine History which we would need to narrow down in to a probable Thesis statement. The topics, such as Pre-Hispanic Colonization and Post=Hispanic Economy, were really general that we need to research more about it to narrow it down and formulate our thesis statements. Then the thesis statement should be argumentative in a way that we would report and defend a historical fact not known to our classmates' point of view. @_@ I am nervous considering that critical thinking skills would be one component of a UP student. I just hope we can defend our stand well.

I have to read this really long and not readily comprehensible article about the issue of Social Science being a science in itself. I need to do a reaction paper about it which is due on Tuesday, I hope I would stop procrastinating and read it with a strong resistance to push it aside and watch Hana Yori Dango online.

Aside from the 2 major hurdles I need to cross mentioned above. I need to answer a set of questions based on the raw notes of this philosopher. It's really vague that I still have to decipher what the notes or observations really mean. Now I appreciate the art of writing compositions for easier understanding.

Math 11 - Well, my Math 11 professor is evidently <s>gay</s> happy. He has this loud an jolly personality that somehow comforts the whole class but I heard from the upper-class men/women (I have to be gender sensitive since I'm now studying in UP xD) that his subject is really toxic. I'm really anxious about this subject since Manresa School focused more on useless religion than on Math and Science. xO

Comm I - Our Comm 1 professor is fluent in English but she talks so fast that sometimes I can't understand a wisp of what she's saying. I got scared when she gave us a copy of the syllabus. It contained two major things. Reading and Writing.
@_@ the two things I'm not really good at. She informed us that we would be reading non-fictional and non-literary selections. And it got worse when she told us that we would practice technical, not creative, writing. How boring can this class get?! Nina was assigned as the 'Beadle' who functions just like a block head but only for Comm 1.

History I - Our History I professor is really weird. He gave us a recorded pop quiz immediately. He said that he'd be doing this every meeting so no quiz means no attendance on any day. He made us stand in front of class and interviewed us. He insults students in a way that the students are not directly offended. He tells the class that he has high standards when it comes to projects and that his type of projects are documentaries and really detailed dioramas of UP-Manila. I was really nervous about this since I'm a lackey for projects and not a history-interested person.
But he told us that he gives extra points to students who either play indoor soccer or donate blood. >_< (Sorry but History 1 is not worth my blood!)

History II - My professor in History I is also my professor for History II! Talk about a really cursed life. I should be expecting 4 pop quizzes every week. I should also expect really hard projects to come by two this semester. I really regret passing Nat Sci 1 APE. (By the way I asked the KRNRMS to ask our Nat Sci I teacher if she allows step-in students because I really need my weekly dose of Science to stay motivated now that I know that I'm doomed with my two History classes.)

Soc Sci I - Okay our Soc Sci 1 Professor is apathetic when it comes to how much attention students give during his lectures. I really try to stay focused but his unaudible voice makes the class more boring. Thus, as a defense mechanism, I space out.

Philo I - She's a terror, I know! She has strict house rules. "You are not allowed to leave the room when I am in the middle of my lecture" She even asks us to answer a textbook regularly! Any written work to be submitted must be in...[place long list of instructions here] We talk about anything under the sun, regardless of it's contribution to the development of the topic at hand. Yes, I know this is fun but everytime somehing funny comes up, she has this distinct kind of laughter which gives me an impression that she's trying too hard to have a sense of humor. Neurotic much?
*sigh* This was the only class I look forward to since we will be discussing logic and fallacies.

PE 2 (Social Dance) - Ooh. I find it really fun. Our instructor was patient enough to teach us complicated chacha steps. But before chacha lessons. She asked us to simply walk across the room and then showed us how to do the "Dancer's Walk". Dancing social dances give me the right mix of body coordination and plain fun.

9:45 am I was rushing across Taft to Padre Faura because it's 15 minutes till my 1st Soc Sci 1 class starts. I made it just in time to enter the classroom. My classmates were already seated but our prof was nowhere in sight. I rejoined my acquaintances and startd chatting. 5..10..15 minutes have passed and our prof still hasn't arrived. Our block head Renee asked if we can leave now. (University Rule: If prof is 15 minutes late, students can have their free time.) The majority decided to leave but some would like to stay and wait. The whole block was worried that they might hold a class of their own so I asked our block head to persuade the nonconformist. Good thing they were easy to negotiate with.

I along with my new friends rushed to Robinson's Place(UP-Manila official canteen slash shopping center) and had lunch together.

My new group was called knrrms(pronounced as kuhnerms). It was actually a name impulsively formulatd by Nina, to name our group. Here's the group:

Kevin: Hmmm...He rarely speaks and he most of the time walks ahead of the group.
Nina: A co-japanese enthusiast. She watch j-drama, listens to j-pop, reads j-manga, watches animes. She's so addicted to anything japanese that she eavesdrops on japanese conversation by strangers, shrieks on everything japanese and likes to use chopsticks. We share interests so we talk alot.
RJ: Oh you know me.
Renee: She's our block head and she hates being the block head. She gives me the 'rich bitch' impression. Despite this impression, she's friendly, intelligent and evidently responsible. She kinda reminds about Rozelle. She knows a little about nihongo so we talk alot. She has a big apetite but never affects her figure. We share the same sense of humor, sarcastic and a bit insulting. ^o^
Ming: G E E K! She's 15 turning 16 yearsold this year. A book worm born in 1991. She tied to sales talk me about this fantasy book she reads and she did a really good job.(Yes I can be easily persuaded xD). A graduate from Muntinlupa Science, I knew her knowledge was nothing compared to mine. Did you know that they took up geometry on 2nd year and pre-calculus on 3rd year.
Sarah: She just joined our group this afternoon and I know little about her. But she's friendly and approachable so we'll get along just fine.

Watch out for my next post. "My 1st Class from Every Subject and How Doomed I Am."

June 12. I am here inside a technologically late internet cafe.(They still have mouse-ball mice.) I just realized that I missed the CAMP Freshmen Orientation Program last June 8 and early this morning. It's very irresponsible of me no to check my schedule.
Oh happy dagger! *grabs dagger* Now I have to disturb my Block mates and Block Coordinator. I really wish I checked my schedule earlier. Oh well, I won't get expelled from UP just because of this right?

The apartment unit is flourishing xD. It's all furnished and clean. I just need an internet connection for my laptop and I'd feel like I'm nowhere away from home. I really hope the people from Smart Bro come this afternoon and install the router ASAP.

1st day of classes tomorrow and I can't wait! *jumps around* I don't have classes every Wed. so I don't really know what to bring. I guess we'll only have a general orientation and other welcoming stuff. I just want to start the classes! @_@

I checked my schedule and my 1st class on Thursday is Social Science 1. I don't know what to expect so I'm really excited. Amidst the excitement I'm still frustrated o know that I wont be having any science(Natural) classes! xO I want my science classes! *raises a sign and marches round and round* I want Japanese Proficiency classes too! Why can't they teach it in Manila if they teach it in Diliman. Truly the world is unfair. I really hope there's a Nihongo Org here in UP-Manila. *crosses fingers*

Oh yeah, Happy Independence Day everybody. *really lacks patriotism*

Too bad I only attend it 2 times a week. @_@ I want a science class! *throws a tantrum*

On the bright side, I have Wednesday as a free day. I wonder why?
I mean, this whole day would be very much productive if it would be used for classes. Anyway, more time to meet up with you guys. See ya!
